Works will commence in February on the replacement of Little Street Bridge over Cohens Gully, with a modern two-lane concrete bridge set to replace the current timber bridge. The new bridge will be constructed in the same location as the old one, with Little St being closed between Brodie Street and Cohen Street during the construction period. An alternative route via Mayne St will be available for community members.

GC Civil has been contracted to construct the bridge, with the Upper Hunter Shire Council taking charge of the construction of the approaches once the bridge is complete. The Little Street Bridge replacement project is just one part of a wider Bridge Replacement and Renewal Program being carried out by Council throughout the Shire, aiming to improve our vital infrastructure to ensure it meets the needs of our communities into the future.

Upper Hunter Shire Council Mayor Maurice Collison commented on the project, saying "We're thrilled to be able to bring this important project to life and to continue our efforts to improve the infrastructure of our shire. The Little Street Bridge replacement project is a crucial part of our wider Bridge Replacement and Renewal Program, and I'm proud of the progress we're making in ensuring that our community has the infrastructure it needs to thrive."

The Little Street Bridge replacement project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
