Jointly funded by the Australian Government in association with the NSW Government's Fixing Local Roads Program, the Moonan Brook Road Upgrade and Initial Seal project will contribute to better outcomes for road safety in our community . This investment will aid in reducing Council maintenance backlogs for local roads and assist in keeping communities connected, increasing economic and social development in the Upper Hunter.

This stage 1 project will involve the seal of approximately 3.5km of Moonan Brook Road from the intersection with Hunter Road (MR105). Work involves gravel patching and repair of pavement defects such as potholes, corrugations and scours. Works will also include the repair and/or replacement of damaged or undersized drainage structures, the installation of additional drainage structures, clearing of vegetation and widening of cuttings to improve sight distance and the installation of guard rail.

Council and our engaged contractors will be working between 7am and 4pm on weekdays for a period of approximately six (6) months, pending weather and resource availability. There will be temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe for staff and road users. Please expect and allow for delays when travelling on this road.
