Updated: 9 October 2025, 3:07 pm

Roads - All roads are now open

Please drive to the conditions and take care on the roads. Never drive through flood waters.

Drive with Caution – Potholes on roads: Current wet weather has led to a number of potholes forming across the local highways and our roads. Conditions are changing rapidly, so please drive to the conditions, slow down where needed, and report any major hazards to NSW Roads or Council depending on the road location.

Important info from Mid Coast Council For Barrington Tops:

  • Barrington Tops Forest Road (west of Gloucester) is closed to all traffic from Geales Bridge across the Dilgry River (where Scone Road meets Barrington Tops Forest Road) due to multiple landslips.
  • While one slip in the State Forest section has been cleared, others persist, including a major slip on MidCoast Council’s section of the road which is undergoing geotechnical assessment. A timeframe for full reopening is not yet available.
  • Access to Scone via Barrington Tops from Gloucester remains unavailable.

Sportsgrounds

All UHSC fields, ovals, parks, showgrounds & reserves are now OPEN except for:

  • Merriwa Oval No 1 & 2 – maintenance.

Reminder to all User Groups and Organisers of the event.

Before scheduling and conducting any activity, please consider the following:

  • Weather impacts: Unexpected, expected rain can quickly alter ground conditions.
  • Risk assessments: Your club is required to inspect the playing surface prior to each use and determine whether the conditions are suitable and safe for play.
  • Damage responsibility: Any damage caused to the grounds during your booking will be the club’s financial responsibility. Charges for reinstatement works will apply where necessary.
  • Contact UHSC: During business and after hours 02 6540 1100 for any enquiries.

We appreciate your cooperation in upholding these protocols.

A few things to consider before play

  • If there is rain, the ground conditions may change.
  • Clubs will be required to conduct a risk assessment of the grounds before play and make their own decision regarding suitability.
  • Just a reminder, damage caused to the ground will be the club’s responsibility and they will be charged for re-instatement works.
