Register your pet

Step 1.When you register, you’ll need: 

  • Your animal’s certificate of identification – which you receive when your pet is microchipped
  • Proof of de-sexing – if applicable

Step 2.Check the registration fee

Different fees apply based on whether your pet is de-sexed, is a breeding animal or a service/assistance animal. 

Step 3.Online registration

Register at NSW Pet Registry

Step 4.In person registration

At any Service NSW outlet Council Adnimistration Centres at Scone, Merriwa and Murrurundi. 

Note: If your contact details change, you can update your registration details at NSW Pet Registry.

Microchipping

In NSW, all cats and dogs are required to be microchipped:

  • By 12 weeks of age
  • Before being sold or given away

Microchipping is done by your local vet and ensures your pet can be located easily if lost. Make sure you keep your details up to date in NSW Pet Registry so you can be contacted if your pet is found.
