Upper Hunter Shire Council has a vacancy on its Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee for a suitably qualified independent member.
The Committee’s objective is to provide independent assurance to Council by monitoring, reviewing and providing advice about the Council’s governance processes, compliance, risk management and control frameworks, external accountability obligations and overall performance.
The Committee consists of three (3) independent members (one of whom is the chairperson) and one non-voting Councillor.
Applications are now being sought from interested persons with appropriate qualifications, skills and expertise, preferably in the fields of financial management, auditing, risk management and regulatory compliance.
The committee convene four (4) times per annum with remuneration of the independent members being $1,000 per meeting with an additional $250 for the chair.
