Council is holding a public hearing into the reclassification of Council-owned land in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993. Council, at its meeting held on 25 September 2023, resolved to support a planning proposal to:
97 Hill Street, Scone (Reclassify Lot 1 and Lot 3 DP212047)
97 Hill Street, Scone from community to operational to enable the sale, and/or development, of the land for residential purposes.
98 Hill Street, Scone (Reclassify Lot 12 DP 227553)
98 Hill Street, Scone from community to operational to enable the sale, and/or development, of the land for residential purposes.
2912 New England Highway, Scone (Reclassify Lot 21 DP 1235763)
2912 New England Highway, Scone from community to operational to enable the development of a railway overpass to the Scone industrial area, saleyards and abattoir on the eastern side of the railway line as well as potential future development on the balance of the land.
In accordance with Section 29 of the Local Government Act 1993 a public hearing will be held into the proposed reclassification of the parcels of Council-owned land. A report identifying the properties affected and the reasons for the proposed reclassifications is available in the attached documents.
The public hearing will take place on Wednesday, 27 March 2024 at 5.00pm in the Upper Hunter Shire Council Chambers at 135 Liverpool Street, Scone.
If you would like to participate in the public hearing, please register by 4pm the day of the public hearing by registering via the online form below or phoning Council on 6540 1100.
The public hearing will be chaired by a person who is independent of Council. The public hearing provides the public with an opportunity to make a short verbal presentation to the chairperson of the hearing. Written submissions will also be accepted by the chairperson.
Following the public hearing, the chairperson will prepare a report on the hearing, a copy of which will be publicly available once it has been received by Council.
Individual presentations should be no longer than five minutes each.
