Member for New England Barnaby Joyce visited White Park today to announce a $3.1 million election commitment from an elected Coalition Government to further develop the equestrian precinct.

Mr Joyce met with Upper Hunter Shire Mayor Maurice Collison and General Manager Greg McDonald to confirm the funding, which will support upgrades to the campground area, including a sealed access road, powered sites, water connections and new amenities.

Mayor Collison welcomed the announcement, noting the benefits the upgrades will bring to local tourism and the equine sector.

“This is a major investment in one of our most important regional facilities,” Mayor Collison said. “It will improve the experience for visitors, support the growing demand for equine events and help drive economic activity across the Upper Hunter.”

Council thanks The Nationals for their ongoing support of White Park, which has already seen previous Federal funding deliver improvements including grandstand seating, a new canteen, and the campdraft arena.
